Are Histones the pearls of life? The string of pearls>........... Whether a particular gene is transcribed, i.e. expressed in a cell or not, depends largely on its chromatin configuration, or the status of the proteins that surround the DNA that encodes the genes to be regulated. One particular constituent of chromatin are histones, around which the DNA strand is wound, in a conformation reminiscent of pearls on a string. In order to allow access of the transcription machinery to the string, the histones have to be removed from the DNA. This can be achieved by adding or removing methyl or acetyl groups to histones at specific sites. www.chromatin-plasticity.org/partners/ca.htmlI knew I heard that mentioned somewhere in the transgenes. Sky, histones?
I assume connected to histamine?
when I was ill, an MD took a pen cap and did "tic-tac-toe" on my back
within seconds, the areas he had scratched with the pencap, became very red, raised and warm indicating Histamine release
Histones, histamines........highly connected here
