genetically modified ants. pretty funny that noone had ever seen them until 2002. ? Now they are everywhere...chewing through low voltage wires. If they had been around before 2002, someone would have noticed. aqt

Buried telephone cables are brought up into three foot tall metal "pedestals' with a bottom not sealed against contact with soil. Inside the pedestal, the sheath is removed from the cable and 50 to maybe 600 very lightly insulated wires and several totally uninsulated connections are exposed. These ants would ground or short circuit these connections. Ask your local telephone repairman if this is a problem in your area. Are the ants eating insulation or simply nesting and grounding or shorting connections? If they are eating insulation, we've got a serious problem.
Maybe they "bug" conversations and transmit to a satellite. Lol.

Oh wow...my two words: peppermint oil and lemon pledge. Hopefully that would stop them.
Actually, in tropical countries we have ants that eat styrofoam- they actually carry it out after carving it. We also know of ants that eat people...or large mammals. They attack living creatures. But I am in shock.
Peace, Mar.

yes, those ants sure remind me of Drug addiicts on a major cop, they way they run around all crazy like. No joke, makes you wonder if massive bipolar wind hit planet Earth, Maybe mixed in with Hitlers Power Hunger Gene Particulates.
Like a cross between a Britanny Spears Frenzy and Hilter's Germany.
Yes where did they suddenly come from/ Ants Forage for food , are they feeding off electricity?
Funny ,
I told my brother about thee ants and he told me of a mouse he had in his house. It was so smart that it would move two mousetraps to each side to get to the cheese in the 3rd middle trap and not get caught . It did this a few times. He used to see this mouse up by his keyboard at night.
Wonder , anyone heard of bots being manufactured and placed on keyboards? I did but I don't remember to much about it.

perhaps they are just normal ants
infected with morgellons?
that, or they are genetically modified

ABSTRACT We examine the Genetically Modified Ant Colony System (GMACS) algorithm [3], which claims to dynamically tune an Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm to its near-optimal parameters. While our research indicates that the use of GMACS does result in higher quality solutions over a hand-tuned ACO algorithm, we found that the algorithm is ultimately hindered by its emphasis on randomized ant breeding. Specifically, our investigation shows that tuning ACO parameters on a single colony using a genetic algorithm, as done by GMACS, is not as effective as it may first appear and has several drawbacks. portal.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=1276984&dl=GUIDE&coll=GUIDE&CFID=70323528&CFTOKEN=76557595

A bunch of Floridian researchers have come up with a way to eradicate fire ants, and those of you not used to the power of SCIENCE may want to brace yourselves: They plan to infect the fire ants with a self-sustaining genetically modified virus, which they will release into Texas farmlands. If you think that's a bad idea, please raise your hand. If you think it's a good idea, please raise your giant mutated ant-pincer, giving the terrified but sexy teenager you're about to devour the chance to escape. To highlight the differences between scientists and 'regular' people, ask yourself: how would you kill an ant? a) Stamp on it b) Burn it with a magnifying glass c) Alter a viral agent for increased lethality and transmissivity, then release it into the American outback. www.digalist.com/item/3782perhaps I was wrong.... perhaps it was the VIRUS they are infected with that was genetically modified...not the ant itself. just when I think I know it all.....LOLOLOLOLOLOL aqt

on a side note In materials science, a genetically modified virus has been used to construct a more environmentally friendly lithium-ion battery.[interesting en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_engineeringGenetic engineering, recombinant DNA technology, genetic modification/manipulation (GM) and gene splicing are terms that apply to the direct manipulation of an organism's genes.[1] Genetic engineering is different from traditional breeding, where the organism's genes are manipulated indirectly. Genetic engineering uses the techniques of molecular cloning and transformation to alter the structure and characteristics of genes directly. Genetic engineering techniques have found some successes in numerous applications. Some examples are in improving crop technology, the manufacture of synthetic human insulin through the use of modified bacteria, the manufacture of erythropoietin in hamster ovary cells, and the production of new types of experimental mice such as the oncomouse (cancer mouse) for research. AND ONLY GOD KNOWS THE EXTENT OF THE REST OF IT the things they aren't telling us like Morgellon's. aqt

www.ars.usda.gov/Research/docs.htm?docid=9050&pf=1&cg_id=0Benign viruses can be genetically modified to express detrimental proteins and other products in infected fire ant hosts. Both approaches are potentially important weapons in future control of fire ants. detrimental proteins...like our protein fibers we are the ants. aqt
