Why do the filaments have a casing around them?

DNA-templated self-assembly of protein arrays and highly conductive nanowires. Yan H1, Park SH, Finkelstein G, Reif JH, LaBean TH. Author information Abstract A DNA nanostructure consisting of four four-arm junctions oriented with a square aspect ratio was designed and constructed. Programmable self-assembly of 4 x 4 tiles resulted in two distinct lattice morphologies: uniform-width nanoribbons and two-dimensional nanogrids, which both display periodic square cavities. Periodic protein arrays were achieved by templated self-assembly of streptavidin onto the DNA nanogrids containing biotinylated oligonucleotides. On the basis of a two-step metallization procedure, the 4 x 4 nanoribbons acted as an excellent scaffold for the production of highly conductive, uniform-width, silver nanowires. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14512621/

pubs.rsc.org/services/images/RSCpubs.ePlatform.Service.FreeContent.ImageService.svc/ImageService/image/GA?id=C4SM01332HThis is what I see: and I just had cataract surgery so can see a lot more: these grow as I have said numerous times and they are slightly smaller than a hair......so the deceit and lying about them being 1,000 times smaller than hair is false info. I have seen the flat ends of the ribbons, the coils, the folds and they do not move like live critters would, but, they have the power to act as such. ..."The ability to create nanotubes via ssDNA-amphiphile self-assembly offers an alternative to the other purely DNA-based approaches like DNA origami and DNA tile assembly for constructing these structures and may be useful for applications in drug delivery, biosensing, and electronics." ubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2015/sm/c4sm01332h/unauth#!divAbstract To understand this, you have to get on top of what is created and these have specific purposes. I will not be intimidated by this BS coming from a Lyme sufferer trying to win on Morgies coat tails.
