Several of us are finding flea related artifacts that are out of the ordinary. Fleas like mosquitoes are well known vectors for pathogens/disease.This can be a place for photos and discussion. The hexagonal crystals seen in the CRYSTALS thread are flea related.

Fleas may remain infected for days or weeks or months under suitable conditions of temperature and humidity, or may clear themselves of infection.

So do you mean by out of the ordinary is that some samples that have crystals are from people that don't have animals nor work in a animal related job? bianca

Bianca: All I meant to say was that those crystals in the beginning of the CRYSTAL thread (those posted by me) were found in the desicated remains of fleas and they aren't things you would expect to find. Fleas and mosquitos are grown in labs by the millions and could be contaminated with a biowarfare pathogens and released, hence the need to watch for something out of the ordinard.
I understand there are two sisters involved in the study of crystals that haven't come on board yet. I'm really anxious to see what they have.

I totally agree! I had the black "specks" (under magnifying glass they looked like tightly coiled dark green fibers) and glitter (looked like tiny wings) on my skin when I had biting sensations.
I spent a lot of the time in the woods and had mosquito bites all over my body before these episodes occurred.

Dead flea caught on a "sticky trap" with fungal? growth from the body. Nearby are three droplets of liquid from which crystals may grow. (see the CRYSTALS thread.)

could be flea feces..... look at the top section...doesn't the end appear to be open as if the material is hollow? It looks like the shell one would find inside a cocoon of fibers to protect/encase the pupa while it does it's metamorphasis ......or something grew inside of this casing and shed it's shell? the inside of a silkworm cocoon www.photoseek.com/Turkey.htmllepidoptera

Similar for sure but different.
Yes, the "flea feces" is hollow; what's with that? Anybody?
Notice the pearly-white similar sized object?

thanks for bumping this one...
how can flea feces be hollow?
I'm a nurse......feces is NOT hollow
I do believe the brown "u" shaped artifact is part of the life cycle...the shell that is shed.
just my humble opinion
